Vanguard Heavy carries the fifth orbital array module required to extend AEON’s deep-space observation lattice. The payload includes a new interference filter stack, relay hardware, and long-baseline calibration systems.
Readiness Notes
Vehicle integration remains inside thermal tolerance and the payload has cleared final vibration review. Teams are now focused on deployment timing once the stack reaches insertion altitude.
Why It Matters
Module 5 expands the agency’s continuous telemetry corridor and reduces blind time between outer-system assets and ground control. The result is better command stability for missions that can no longer rely on near-Earth infrastructure.
